WAYNE, Illinois, Aug. 22, 2022–Laura Graves rode SenSation HW to win the U.S. Festival of Champions Prix St. Georges Monday with the highest St. Georges score in 16 month of Small Tour competition.
Laura of Geneva, Florida and the nine-year-old Westfalen gelding were awarded 75.117% by the all-American panel of five judges with the Intermediate 1 and Freestyle to come to decide the title in the week-long national championships of virtually every age and level of horses and riders.
Nick Wagman of San Diego, California and Heatcliff, a 10-year-old KWPN gelding, scored 73.529%–including one mark of 77.352% that was the highest in the class of 14 combinations–for runner-up.
Emily Miles of La Cygne, Kansas and Daily Show, eight-year-old Hanoverian stallion, were third on 71.646% . Emily and Daily Show competed in the world five-year-old championships, in 2019.
