HERNING, Denmark, Aug. 7, 2022–Charlotte Dujardin rode the nine-year-old Imhotep to the second highest Grand Prix score Sunday to boost Britain’s chances of attaining a world championships podium finish.

Charlotte and the KWPN gelding scored 77.407% behind only overnight leader Dinja van Liere and Hermes of the Netherlands on 78.835%. Charlotte Fry on Glamourdale was the remaining team rider for Britain among many top riders from other medal contenders later in the day.

“I seriously love this horse,” Charlotte said, “he is a working machine, he always wants to go, only nine years old and still giving me his all. He is so powerful and springy, with so much airtime. When I do changes it feels like I am in the air all the time, he is so special. Pete tries his best. So very proud of him.”

This was only the third Big Tour competition for the partnership and the performance on a cold and rainy day was eagerly anticipated.
