Steffen is America’s most experienced dressage rider with five Olympics for silver and two bronze team medals and four world championships for one team silver and one team bronze as well as two individual bronzes at the 2010 Games in Kentucky. His five World Cup Finals include being one of only two American riders ever to win the annual championships which he did on Ravel at Las Vegas in 2009. Steffen has competed Suppenkasper, nicknamed “Mopsie,” for 4 1/2 years with the world championship and Olympic silver medals on their record. The horse was bought from Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg by Four Winds Farm and Akiko Yamazaki, also owner of Ravel and Legolas competed by Steffen.

Adrienne of Wellington, Florida has competed at two Olympics, on Wizard at London in 2012 and on Salvino at the Tokyo Games a year ago. She rode Wizard at the 2014 World Games in Normandy and Salvino at Tryon in 2018. The first Big Tour competition for Adrienne and Salvino was in 2017. The pair went on to earn team silver medals at the 2018 Tryon WEG and the Tokyo Olympics and also rode at the 2019 World Cup Final.

Both Adrienne and Steffen are coached by Debbie McDonald, the former U.S. team coach.

For Katie of Greenwood Village, Colorado on Quartett, this will be her first senior championship. She earned team gold at the North American Young Rider Championships in 2008. Katie and Quartett competed on US teams at Nations Cups at Wellington and Aachen, Germany this year and at Rotterdam on Paxton, her other Big Tour mount. She is coached by Adrienne Lyle.

This will be the first U.S. team championship event for Ashley of Wellington, though she competed as an American at the World Cup Final in April on Havanna, an individual championship. She rode in four Olympics for Canada, including for team bronze in 1988. Ashley switched to ride for the U.S. in 2017. She is coached by Robert Dover and Katherine Bateson-Chandler.

The team will be led by Chef d’Equipe George Williams and Team Leader Hallye Griffin
