WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 25, 2022–Ecuador’s Julio Cesar Mendoza Loor and Jewel’s Goldstrike won the Global Dressage Festival CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Friday on an international career high score for the U.S.-based rider.
Julio and the 11-year-old KWPN gelding scored 75.465% for the win following victory in the Grand Prix Thursday and after only one other Big Tour event earlier in March.
Julio, based in Columbus, North Carolina, competed Chardonnay at the 2017 Bolivarian Games and the 2018 World Equestrian Games.
Germany’s Christoph Koschel and Favorito, a 12-year-old Lusitano stallion, was second on 74.595%.
Hope Cooper of Concord, Massachusetts on Hot Chocolate W, a 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was third on 71.400%.
