WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 17, 2022–Michael Klimke on Harmony’s Sanrino RHP and Christoph Koschel on Dünensee posted personal best scores in the Grand Prix to give Germany the lead in the CDIO3* Nations Cup Thursday with the United States not far behind and Canada standing third.
Michael and the 13-year-old Oldenburg stallion scored 71.152% that was the highest Big Tour score plus a bonus of 1.5% in the mixed Prix St. Georges/Grand Prix first stage of the two-day team competition.
Christoph Koschel on Dünensee, a 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding, was awarded 71.022%, also to receive a 1.5% bonus, for second place in the Grand Prix.
Both horses are owned by Americans–Sanrino by Harmony Amateur Sports Foundation of Kiowa, Colorado for whom Michael rides, and Dünensee by Diamante Farms of Wellington, Florida.
Bianca Berktold of Loxahatchee, Florida on Imperial was top placed in the Prix St. Georges segment with a score of 72.441%.
