Jill Irving, Canada’s Pan American Games gold medalist, has bought Delacroix 11 that was competed on the Netherlands’ Nations Cup team at Aachen, Germany three months ago.

Delacroix is a Hanoverian gelding (Dancier x Don Crusador) that was ridden by Vincent van Gasselt on the Dutch silver medal team at the CDIO5*. The horse that began Big Tour in August, 2020 was owned by Vera Verwelius.

“I’m thrilled to welcome this beautifully trained horse to my stable and I’m excited to see what the future will hold,” Jill told dressage-news.com after completing the purchase Friday.

Delacroix will be flown from Europe in mid-January to Florida where Jill is based for the winter at Wellington and works with her long-time coach, Ashley Holzer, a four-time Olympian for Canada.

Jill rode her Degas on Canada’s team at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018.

She and the Hanoverian gelding won team gold at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru a year later.

Jill has competed at international dressage for a decade, on both sides of the Atlantic. She has ridden on Canada’s teams at five Nations Cups at the Global Dressage Festival in Wellington and at Rotterdam, Netherlands in July this year.
