Santiago Cardona on Soulina won the CDI* Small Tour division to become one of four Colombian national champions at Cali, Colombia.

Santiago, a 2019 Pan American Games competitor, and the 12-year-old mare clinched the title with victory on 74.108% in the Intermediate Freestyle. The pair were second on 68.726% in the Prix St. Georges and fifth on 63.382% in the Intermediate 1.

Andrea Vargas and the Lusitano mare Milonga earned silver in the Freestyle with 71.275% and Juliana Gutierrez on Flanissimo took bronze with 70,425% before judges Claudia Moreira de Mesquita of Brazil, Knut Danzberg of Germany and Rosa Cristina Franco of Colombia.

The CDI was the first observation event to select the national team for the 2022 Bolivarian Games. Shannon Dueck, Colombia’s national coach and based in Florida, was present for the championships.

Young Rider Champion was Laura Quintero Raffo and Jaguar with 64.892% for the individual test.

Fabrizzia Tascon Silva on DiCallas took the Junior title with 69.510%.

Children’s Champion was Valeria Gamboa and P.R.E. gelding Orion with a final score of 68.097%.
