OLDENBURG, Germany, Oct. 31, 2021–Brazil’s João Victor Marcari Oliva and Escorial Horsecampline won the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Sunday for the first double Big Tour victory for the Olympic partnership outside South America.
João and the 12-year-old Lusitano stallion scored 70.745% for the win following victory in the Grand Prix a day earlier. The two first placings were the first for their partnership that began a year ago. João competed on Brazil’s team at the 2016 Olympics as well as the 2014 and 2018 World Equestrian Games.
He began his Grand Prix career in 2013 and rode in his first Big Tour competition in Europe the following year. He has most recently been based in Portugal.
Germany’s Elisa Prigge on Dark Dancer placed second on 70.447% and Andrea Timpe on Don Darwin third on 69.787%, the same order as in the Grand Prix.
