GROTE BRUGEL, Belgium, Sept. 4, 2021–Sweden’s Patrik Kittel and Fiontini won the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday, the first musical performance for the month-old partnership.
Patrik and the 11-year-old Danish Warmblood mare scored 78.190% for the win a day after capturing the Grand Prix in only the second event since Patrik took over the ride a month ago.
Lyndal Oatley of Australia on Eros, a 12-year-old KWPN gelding, for a score of 74.370% to place second as the pair did in the Grand Prix.
Karen Nijvelt of the Netherlands on Darwin placed third on 70.470% in the freestyle in which only three combinations participated.
Belgium’s Jorinde Verwimp on Golddream VD Kempenhoeve won the CDI3* Intermediate 1 on a score of 73.088% with Lina Uzunhasan of the USA in Furst Fabelhaft UZN second on 70.882%.
