Denmark’s Olympic team of Cathrine Dufour on Bohemian, Carina Cassøe Krüth on Heilines Danciera, Nanna Skodborg Merrald on Zack and Charlotte Heering on Bufranco was announced Friday.

Details of the team:

* Cathrine Dufour, 29, and Bohemian, 11-year-old Westfalen gelding, owned by Abildgaard Equestrian ApS

* Carina Cassøe Krüth, 36, and Heilines Danciera, 10-year-old Danish Warmblood mare, owned by Poul Thøgersen

* Nanna Skodberg Merrald, 27, and Zack, 17-year-old KWPN stallion, owned by Blue Hors ApS

* Charlotte Heering, 35, and Bufranco, 15-year-old KWPN gelding, owned by Aspegaarden V/Niels Heering

Cathrine is the only rider with Olympic experience, having competed Cassidy at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro then going on to become one of the top combinations in the world.

She and Bohemian are the No. 6 ranked combination in the world, with eight victories in 10 starts with all but two scores above 80% in both the Grand Prix and the Special during the coronavirus-impacted schedule since late 2019.

Carina has competed Heilines Danciera since a youngster, including at the World Young Horse Championships as a five, six and seven-year-old. Most recently, the pair placed first in the CDIO5* Nations Cup Grand Prix Special at Compiègne, France last month.

Nanna, as a rider for Denmark’s Blue Hors studs, took over Zack from Daniel Bachmann Andersen who had competed the horse at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, the 2019 European Championships and the 2018 and 2019 World Cup Finals.
