The International Equestrian Federation (FEI) General Assembly that was to be held in Johannesburg in November, has been cancelled due to coronavirus and will now be held online.

The 2021 annual meeting at which major decisions governing horse sports worldwide will be held in South Africa. It will mark the 100th birthday of the FEI based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

“The safety of our community is our highest priority and although it is regrettable, cancelling our in-person General Assembly this year and going online was the responsible thing to do,” FEI President Ingmar De Vos said.

The General Assembly governs the overall direction, development and management of dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, jumping, reining, vaulting and para dressage and driving worldwide.
