Tom O’Mara, active in the hunter-jumper community, has been elected president of the United States Equestrian Federation, to take over next January.
Tom, a member of the USEF board of directors and secretary-treasurer was unopposed for the post. He is a financial services manager and consultant.
He has been active in the hunter/jumper community for many years. His wife, Liz, daughters Meg, Casey, and Abby, and son T.J., are active competitors.
Tom is the third straight president from the hunter-jumper community. David O’Connor, an Olympic eventing individual gold medalist was president beginning in 2004 after the merger of two organizations representing American domestic and international horse sports. He was succeeded in 2012 by Chrystine Tauber and then by Murray Kessler, whose term ends next January.
