WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 8, 2020–Alice Tarjan riding Donatella M that she bought as a four-year-old online, won the Global Dressage Festival qualifier Sunday to earn a start in the Lövsta Future Challenge Developing Grand Prix final at the end of March. Sarah Lockman and Dehavilland took the developing Prix St. Georges qualifier for the Summit Farm final.
Alice an amateur rider of Frenchtown, New Jersey and in Florida for the winter circuit, rode Donatella to win the Intermediate II qualifier on 68.456%.
As with her numerous other horses over the years, Donatella, an Oldenburg mare now nine years of age, was bought online by Alice. The
The Lövsta Future Challenge Developing Grand Prix final of horses aged eight to 10 years will be held Global’s centerpiece arena the last week of the 12-week Dressage Festival.
Sarah Lockman of Murietta, California, rode Dehavilland to win the Summit Farm developing Prix St. Georges and get a ticket to the final to be held at Global along with the developing Grand Prix final.
Sarah, competing in Florida this winter with her 2019 Pan American Games gold medal mount First Apple, was awarded 70.074% for the win on Dehavilland, a nine-year-old American-bred Oldenburg gelding.
When Sarah was starting her training and sale business, she bought Dehavilland as a yearling for $2,500 in a bankruptcy sale.
His nickname is “the donkey” because he was young his head and ears were way too big for his body, but has become a talented competition horse.
