WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 6, 2020–A boldly “American” team that included two Canadians and an Australian triumphed in a quadrille of Bruce Springsteen hits at the annual Challenge of the Americas fundraising event for breast cancer research at the Global Dressage Festival Friday night.

Sporting large Stars & Stripes flags on the back of riding jackets and similarly designed horse head hoods even down to gloves, the six-member Winged Foot squad rode to the music of the iconic Bruce Springsteen who personally approved the use of his most famous songs including “Born in the USA.”

The victory by the Winged Foot Enterprises squad–declared winners by both the panel of judges and spectators–was met with loud cheering and clapping from the crowd that packed Global’s spectator stands and the VIP pavilion at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

The team comprised Ilse Schwarz, an Australian based in Wellington, Canadian Olympian David Marcus and World Equestrian Games rider Shannon Dueck and Americans Bridget Hay, Ashley Madison and Susanne Hamilton.

Five sponsored teams each of six riders and horses performed in the CofA, a total of 30 Grand Prix horses engaged in choreographed rides in the midst of a circuit that is focused on qualifying for the Olympics in Tokyo.
