BAWLEY POINT, Australia, Feb. 23, 2020–Mary Hanna and Syriana won the Willinga Park Dressage by the Sea CDI4* Grand Prix Special Sunday while the New Zealand combination of Melissa Galloway and Windermere J’Obei W placed second in their debut Big Tour event.

Mary and Syriana, 14-year-old Westfalen mare, scored 70.213% for the win, the third in four starts this year as the rider seeks to go to Tokyo in July that would be her sixth Olympics for Australia.

Mary, 65 years old, is now based in Australia after splitting her time in Europe for several years.

Melissa Galloway on the New Zealand-bred Windermere J’Obei W was second on 69.660% a day after placing third in the Grand Prix behind Mary on Calanta and Syriana taking the top two spots.

Melissa, 27 years old rider, and her nine-year-old horse have never competed internationally outside their homeland before this event.
