Agnete Kirk Thinggaard has competed three of her Olympic team prospects in Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival to jump start her campaign to ride for Denmark at the Tokyo Games in five months.
Leading the results so far is Blue Hors Zatchmo, 11-year-old Oldenburg stallion. Her other Grand Prix mounts are Blue Hors Veneziano and Blue Hors Don Olymbrio. Olympics.
Agnete, 36 years old, has started Zatchmo in Big Tour three times at Global in Palm Beach International Equestrian Center and is in the lineup for the CDI5* this week. She competed the horse in two CDIs in Denmark before coming to Florida.
However, the Global performances with Veneziano and Don Olymbrio were her first at Big Tour.
She also brought with her Atterupgaards Orthilia, also for training with Blue Hors coach Lars Petersen, a former Danish Olympian who now rides for the United States and is based in neighboring Loxahatchee. Orthilia, that Agnete bought from Fiona Bigwood who rode the 15-year-old Oldenburg mare on Great Britain’s silver medal team at the 2016 Rio Olympics, is back in work recovering from an injury.
Agnete rode Jojo AZ for Denmark at the 2016 Olympics, the 2017 and 2019 European Championships and World Cup Finals at Las Vegas in 2015 as well as 2016 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
