Scores for the best extended walk for the third year at the Stuttgart, Germany, World Cup boosted the chances of Helen Langehanenberg and Damsey FRH making it to Las Vegas next April that would be her sixth Final of the annual championship.

The World Cup champion rider from Germany, ranked third in the Western European World Cup League, and the 17-year-old Hanoverian stallion were in the lineup of 18 combinstions at the pair’s first Final in Sweden this year.

Helen won the title on Damon Hill NRW in 2013, a year after riding on the London Olympic silver medal team in 2012 and on the gold medal team at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy in 2014.

Helen and Damsey, owned by Louise Leatherdale of Long Lake, Minnesota and Susanne Meyer, have been partnered for 3 1/2 years, placing third at the 2019 World Cup Final and earning team gold at the European Championships in 2017.

As one of the leading combinations in the world, Helen and Damsey are competing this week at the “Top 10” at the Sweden International Horse Show in Stockholm.

Helen also trained and competed Suppenkasper, owned by the veterinarian Dr. David Lichtenberg, and her partner since 2014 as well as father of her child born in late 2015. Suppenkasper was sold to Akiko Yamazaki as a mount for Steffen Peters to pursue a place on the American team for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
