MUNICH, Germany, Nov. 23, 2019-Germany’ Matthias Bouten and Meggle’s Boston won the Munich Indoor CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle with a personal best score Saturday for the first double victory of the Big Tour partnership.

Matthias and the 13-year-old KWPN stallion scored 78.900% for the win after capturing the Grand Prix Thursday. This was the third straight win for the duo this month, having taken the Oldenburg CDI4* Grand Prix Freestyle at the beginning of November. Matthias took over the ride on Boston a year ago..

Christoph Koschel, also of Germany, on Ballentines scored 75.490% for second, the same placing as in the Grand Prix in the wrapup competition in Europe before heading to Wellington, Florida for the winter circuit.

Christoph began the Big Tour career of the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion at the Global Dressage Festival winter circuit in Wellington in 2018. In addition to his own competition schedule, Christoph is coach of Japan’s team for the Tokyo Olympics and expects several combinations contending for a place on the team to compete in Florida.

Lisa Müller on Birkhof’s Dave FBW was third on 74.250% to fill out the top three places for Germany.
