RANDBØL, Denmark, Nov. 8, 2019–Daniel Bachmann Andersen rode Blue Hors Zepter to a personal best score to win his home CDI3* Grand Prix Friday and lead a Danish parade filling the top seven places including two newcomers placing second and third.

Daniel and the 11-year-old Oldenburg stallion scored 78.717%, with three of the five judges awarding marks of at least 80 per cent in the pair’s first CDI since competing at Frankfurt, Germany last Christmas. That was also the previous best result of 78.543%.

Zepter (Blue Hors Zack x Wolkentanz II) has not yet competed in a championship. Daniel has ridden Zack, Zepter’s sire, at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon, the European Championships in September and two World Cup Finals.

Carina Cassøe Krüth and Heiline’s Danciera, an eight-year-old Danish Warmblood mare were second on 74.782%, the pair’s second CDI Grand Prix.

Carina competed Heiline’s Danciera (Fürstenball x De Niro) at the World Championships at five, six and seven years old. The pair’s only previous Big Tour event was in Sweden six weeks ago.

Agnete Kirk Thinggaard on Blue Hors Zatchmo scored 71.869% for third place. The only previous CDI for Zepter was at Herning, Denmark last month, the same World Cup that was the finale event for her Jojo AZ. Agnete rode Jojo for Denmark at the 2016 Olympics, three European Championships and two World Cup Finals including Las Vegas in 2015.

Both Daniel and Agnete are coached by Lars Petersen, the Danish Olympian who has long been resident in Wellington, Florida and now rides under the American flag.

Agnete plans to base herself and four horses, including Zepter, at Wellington’s Global Dressage Festival for the coming winter circuit.
