DEVON, Pennsylvania, Sept. 27, 2019–Canada’s Jacqueline Brooks and Westwood won the CDI3* Grand Prix with a personal best score Friday for the fourth straight victory on the horse she has been competing for exactly seven months.
Jacqueline, a two-time Olympian for Canada, and the 12-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 68.239% for the win. The previous best was 67.457% at Thornton, Ontario in June.
Fellow Canadian Diane Creech and Chrevis Christo were second on 67.478% with America’s Jessica Jo Tate of Wellington, Florida and Faberge third on 66.152%.
Jacqueline began competing Westwood at Grand Prix in February at the Adquan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington. This was the fourth straight win for the pair in the 11 starts in Canada and the U.S. since then. She acquired Westwood as a successor to her D Niro, the popular Swedish Warmblood gray gelding that was last competed in May 2018 at the age of 19 after a Big Tour career that began in 2011 and included the 2012 Olympics in London and the 2013 World Cup Final near the horse’s birth place in Sweden.
Westwood had been trained to international Small Tour by Jessica von Bredow-Werndl of Germany.
