VERDEN, Germany, Aug. 10, 2019–Hubertus Schmidt rode the American-owned Denoix PCH to victory in the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal St. Georges Special Saturday to become the ninth combinations to qualify for the final of seven-to-nine-year old horses in Frankfurt at Christmas.
The German Olympic rider and the seven-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Destano x Pik Noir) scored 76.951% for the win in which only the winner of the competition is invited to the final of what is regarded as the most prestigious small tour championship in the world.
Nancy Gooding is the owner of Plum Creek Hollow Farm in Larkspur, Colorado, which in the past 25 years has imported dressage, jumping and hunter horses from Germany for sale in the U.S.
Lena Waldmann, who has already qualified Cadeau Noir for the final of the winners of 12 events across Germany, placed second on Morricone on 75.024%.
