LEUDELANGE, Luxembourg, July 7, 2019–Adrienne Lyle and Salvino posted another career high score to win the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Sunday to cap a string of dominating performances in the first European competition for the American team rider this year. Steffen Peters and Suppenkasper also posted a personal best score for runner-up.
Adrienne and the 12-year-old Hanoverian stallion, on America’s 2018 World Equestrian Games silver medal team, scored 77.468% in the Special a day after logging 77.152% in the Grand Prix. Both scores were career highs for the 34-year-old rider of Wellington, Florida who competed Wizard at the 2012 Olympics and the 2014 World Games.
Steffen Peters of San Diego, California and Suppenkasper, 11-year-old KWPN gelding scored 76.277% for second, same placing as in the Grand Prix.
Portugal’s Duarte Nogueira on Beirao was third on 68.915%.
Adrienne on the American=bred Harmony’s Duval won the Grand Prix for the Freestyle, but pulled out of the musical performance after the horse smacked himself inthe awards ceremony.
Adrienne and the stallion owned by Betsy Juliano LLC began competing at Big Tour in March 2017 and have 12 victories in 34 starts on both sides of the Atlantic.
Adrienne and Steffen will compete at the CHIO in Aachen, Germany in two weeks, the world’s premier horse show.
