FRITZENS, Austria, June 28, 2019–Isabell Werth on Bella Rose easily won the CDI4* Grand Prix Friday in an event at this spectacular show grounds marking the first anniversary of the pair’s return to competition after an absence of 3 1/2 years.

Isabell and the Westfalen mare, 15 years old, was awarded 82.957%, their second highest Grand Prix mark since beginning Big Tour six years ago and exceeded only by the 84.829% earned at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon last September. The duo won team and individual gold at the world championships.

The victory by Isabell and Bella Rose, ranked No. 2 in the world behind the rider on her three-time World Cup champion mount Weihegold OLD, was the 11th straight since re-starting their career here exactly a year ago after the absence caused by a difficult-to-diagnose injury incurred in 2014.

Fellow German Lisa Müller and Gut Wettlkam’s Stand by Me, 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding, scored a personal best 75.478% to place second in the pair’s sixth show since starting Big Tour four months ago. Their previous best was 73.782% set a month ago.

Ireland’s Judy Reynolds on Vancouver K was third on 75.000%, the only non-German in the top seven places.
