UGGERHALNE, Denmark, June 10, 2019–Daniel Bachmann Andersen and Blue Hors Zack won the 2019 Danish Championships Monday after capturing the Grand Prix Freestyle.
The musical performance by Daniel and the 15-year-old KWPN stallion scored 85.200% for the win after the pair, the highest ranked Danish combination at No. 7 in the world, was runner-up in the Grand Prix and the Special.
Blue Hors Don Olymbrio that Daniel rode to win both the Grand Prix and the Special did not compete in the Freestyle as the 11-year-old KWPN stallion is being prepared for the premier CDIO5* Nations Cup in Aachen, Germany next month and the European Championships in Rotterdam in August where Denmark will be aiming to earn a start at the Olympics in Tokyo in 2020.
Daniel, who celebrated his 29th birthday 10 days ago, competed Zack at the 2018 Tryon World Equestrian Games and both the 2018 and 2019 World Cup Finals.
Cathrine Dufour, the 2018 champion on Cassidy, was reserve champion this year on Bohemian. The pair scored 82.450% to place second in the Freestyle and clinch the second place overall.
Agnete Kirk Thinggaard on Jojo AZ was awarded 77.850% for third in the Freestyle and ranked third in the championship standings.
