UGGERHALNE, Denmark, May 26, 2019–Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Blue Hors Don Olymbrio and Cathrine Dufour on Bohemian posted personal best Grand Prix Special scores while Agnete Kirk Thinggaard on Jojo AZ won the Freestyle Sunday to capture the CDIO4* Nations Cup gold. Sweden took silver to become overall series leader, while Germany claimed bronze.
Daniel and the 11-year-old KWPN stallion placed first individually on a score of 78.809% to better the previous high of 77.404% set seven months ago while Cathrine and the nine-year-old Westfalen gelding were third individually on 76.745% to better the pair’s previous best of 76.404% posted six months ago.
Sweden’s Therese Nilshagen on Dante Weltino OLD broke up the Danish domination to place second on 77.362% in the Special. The top two Danish combinations had placed one-two in the first round Grand Prix.
Agnete Kirk Thinggaard on Jojo AZ got Denmark off to a perfect start in the second round by winning the Grand Prix Freestyle on a score of 77.480%. The victory was the first for Agnete and the 16-year-old Hungarian Sporthorse gelding since the pair was on the Nations Cup gold medal team at this event two years ago.
Sweden’s Minna Telde on Isac placed second on 77.000% with team mate Rose Mathisen on Zuidenwind third on 75.500%.
The final standings were: 1. Denmark 16 points; 2. Sweden 20; 3. Germany 43; 4. Finland 57, and 5. Great Britain 67.
This was the fifth victory on home soil for Denmark since the trans-Atlantic series was launched seven years.
Sweden went to the top of the rankings after the third of eight scheduled Nation Cups this year and looking to become champion of the series for the third straight year, moving ahead of the United States and Great Britain tied in second place on 21 points.

The next Nations Cup is scheduled for Geesterern, Netherlands in mid-June, a stand-in venue for Rotterdam that is hosting the European Championships this year.
Denmark’s Marianne Yde Helgstrand on Lollipop won the CDI3* Grand Prix Special on a score of 71.362% after capturing the Grand Prix earlier. Fabienne Müller-Lütkemeier of Germany on Flynn PCH was second on 70.277% with Lone Bang Larsen on Bakkely’s Onandt third on 69.149%.
