WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 17, 2019–Americans Caleb Scroggins on Gyllebo’s Bambi and Adam Steffens on Boston Strong qualified for the inaugural Iron Spring Farm Future Stars Performance Series final to be staged at the Global Dressage Festival in two weeks.

Nora Batchelder of the U.S. on the homebred Belatrix RH was named the wild card to become one of 16 combinations to be invited to compete in the $10,000 Developing Prix St. Georges final for horses aged seven to nine years.

The series of eight events was created by the organizers of the Global circuit and is sponsored by Iron Spring Farm of Coatesville, Pennsylvania and supported by Cunningham & Cunningham Livestock insurance and Legacy Farm in Loxahatchee, Florida operated by Melissa Taylor and Lars Petersen..

Caleb of Magnolia, Texas and the eight-year-old Swedish Warmblood mare (Zuidenwind x Goldmine XX) and owned by Asa Bjorklund won the last of the qualifiers.

Adam of Wellington and Boston Strong, a 10-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Bordeaux x Sandro Hit) owned by Christina Vinios placed second.

Nora Batchelder qualified on her Belatrix, seven-year-old Hanoverian mare (Bretone x Weltmeyer) as the highest scoring combination that did not place in the top two in each qualifier.

The final of the series that is loosely based on the format of Germany’s Nürnberger Burg-Pokal for small tour horses aged seven to nine years old will be staged as a national competition in Global’s centerpiece International Arena on Saturday, Mar. 30. A warmup Developing Prix St. Georges will be held on Thursday, Mar. 28 for the horses and riders to become familiar with the arena. Riders will be allowed to carry whips in both the warmup and final competitions.

To fulfill a goal of the series to keep costs to a minimum, competitors can trailer in each day and there will be no veterinary inspection.

In addition to total prize money of $10,000, a silver picture frame donated by Iron Spring Farm will be awarded to the champion.
