KEYSOE, England, Mar. 15, 2019–Carl Hester rode Nip Tuck to a triumphant return with victory in the CDI3* Grand Prix Friday in the first competition since 2017 for the British Olympic and World Games medal combination.

Carl and the 15-year-old KWPN gelding were awarded 74.457 per cent for the win.

Charlotte Dujardin on Erlentanz was second on 73.413 per cent, the first CDI for the partnership. Erlentanz, a 12-year-old Trakehner gelding, was competed previously by Britain’s Sonnar Murray Brown.

The England-based Danish team rider Anders Dahl on Fidelio van het Bloemenhof third on 72.978 per cent.

Carl and Nip Tuck (Don Ruto x Animo) first competed at Big Tour in May, 2014 and three months later won team silver at the Normandy World Equestrian Games.

The pair repeated the performance at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 as they had done so at the European Championships a year earlier.

Carl and Nip Tuck placed third at the World Cup Final in Omaha that was won by Isabell Werth on Weihegold with Laura Graves on Verdades runner-up.

The last competition before Friday was the European Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2017 where they were out of a team medal but placed fifth individivually in the Grand Prix and the Special and fourth in the Freestyle.
