OLDENBURG, Germany, Nov. 3, 2018–Hubertus Schmidt and Escolar won and Ingrid Klimke placed second on the Australian-bred SPH Dante in the Louisdor Prize to wrap up qualifying for the German final for developing Grand Prix horses.
Hubertus and the nine-year-old Westfalen stallion (Estobar NRW x Fürst Piccolo) scored 75.512 per cent for the win to give the German team rider a second mount in the final of horses aged eight to 10 years in Frankfurt Dec. 13-16. He qualified Chrysler earlier in the series.
Ingrid Klimke, Olympic gold medal eventer for Germany, rode SPH Dante to second place on 72.767 per cent. Ingrid has been riding Dante, a 10-year-old Hanoverian gelding (Welfenadel x Dormello) bred in Australia, for only a few weeks.
