JAKARTA, Aug. 23, 2018–Jacqueline Wing Ying Siu rode JC Fuerst on Tour to win the Asian Games Freestyle and individual gold medal in Jakarta to earn the first ever dressage medal for Hong Kong in 36 years of competition at the continental championships held once every four years. It was also the first gold medal won by Hong Kong in any sport at these Games.

Jacqueline, 35 years old and the 13-year-old Rhinelander gelding that first competed together two months ago, scored 77.045 per cent for the victory that was front page news on Hong Kong’s newspapers.

She has also been nominated on Ferrera for the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina in less than three weeks, the first time she will have competed at the would championships held once every four years.

Malaysia’s Mahamad Fathil Mohd Qabil Ambak on Rosenstolz who finished atop the team Prix St. Georges standings but his nation was out of the medals then was the leading individual combination, took silver on 76.620 per cent

Hyeok Kim on Degas K who rode for South Korea to earn team silver behind Japan captured the freestyle bronze on a score of 75.705 per cent.

Jacqueline has competed on the international circuit for 12 years, including the Asian Games in 2010 and 2014. She competes mostly in western European and this was her first win on the horse owned by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
