SOPOT, Poland, July 1, 2018–Regina Isachkina rode Sun of May Life to victory in the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle in the Russian combination’s Big Tour competition debut.

Regina and the nine-year-old Rhinelander stallion sored 73.325 per cent for the win.

Sweden’s Charlotte Haid Bondegaard on Roberto des Frettes placed second on 73.120 per cent and Germany’s Maik Kohlschmidt on Avemmo third on 71.375 per cent.

The win gives Regina 20 points toward seeking one of two places reserved for Central Europe at the World Cup Final that will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden next April. Hanna Karasiova of Belarus leads the league standings with 37 points.

Charlotte gets to take 17 points to the Western European League, whose circuit does not start for almost four months but riders can earn points in other leagues in the meantime as have at least a half dozen Western European riders so far.

This was the fifth of a record 15 qualifiers scheduled for Central Europe this competition year.
