Cathrine Dufour and Cassidy, as expected, won the Danish Championships Grand Prix Special Friday while Daniel Bachmann Andersen produced top performances on the son and father horses Blue Hors Zepter and Blue Hors Zack for second and third places at the Broholm Horse Show.

Cathrine and the 15-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding, ranked No. 4 in the world, scored 80.255 per cent for the win following their victory in the Grand Prix Thursday in seeking to repeat as the Danish champions and lead the nation’s team to the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina in three months.

Daniel, who celebrated his 28th birthday a week ago, rode the still developing Zepter to second place on a score of 76.706 per cent from the ground jury of five Danish judges. Daniel and the 10-year-old Oldenburg stallion began Big Tour just three months ago.

On Zack, the 14-year-old KWPN stallion and sire of Zepter that was Daniel’s partner at the World Cup Final in Paris in April, scored 76.137 per cent for third place.

Daniel and other Blue Hors riders are coached by Lars Petersen, Olympic, World Cup and World Games rider for Denmark, who has long been based in Florida and now competes under the United States flag.
