HAGEN, Germany, April 26, 2018–Kristina Bröring-Sprehe and Desperados FRH captured the Horses & Dreams CDI4* Grand Prix Thursday for the third straight victory in the German double Olympic pair’s comeback after an absence of more than a year from the competition arena.

Kristina and the 17-year-old Hanoverian stallion were the unanimous choice by the five judges for first place on a score of 79.109 per cent in the duo’s first outdoor competition since winning team gold and Freestyle bronze at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Spain’s Severo Jurado Lopez and Deep Impact were awarded a personal best 75.152 per cent for second place, starting the pair’s second year at Big Tour and the first competition in 2018.

Patrik Kittel of Sweden and Delaunay OLD were third on 75,109 per cent.

Kristina, 31 years old,  and the black stallion (De Niro x Wolkenstein II) that began their international Grand Prix partnership almost seven years ago competed for Germany at the 2012 Olympics, 2014 World Equestrian Games and the 2016 Rio Olympics. The pair were also at the European Championships in 2013 and 2015. The pair were ranked No. in the world for nine months in 2016.
