TAUPO, New Zealand, April 21, 2018–The Olympic duo of Julie Brougham and Vom Feinsten swept the CDI3* Grand Prix, the first such achievement of taking all three Big Tour levels in more than four years of competing at top sport.
In their campaign to represent New Zealand at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina in September Julie and the 15-year-old Rhinelander gelding scored 68.000 per cent in the Grand Prix, 69.617 per cent in the Special and 71.550 per cent in the Freestyle.
Julie, who will be 64 years old next month, and Vom Feinsten are the top ranked New Zealand pair at No. 88 in the world and are the reigning New Zealand Championship pair. In preparing for the 2016 Rio Olympics, they competed throughout western Europe
Jody Hartstone on Ali Baba placed second in the Freestyle on 67.750 per cent and Debbie Barke on Lucrative SW third on 66.875 per cent.
Wendi Williamson on Don Amour MH was second in the Special on 65.362 per cent and Sheena Ross on Parkridge Disco SW was third on 62.553 per cent.
