WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 1, 2018–Laura Graves and Verdades won the World Cup Grand Prix Thursday for the fifth straight win and an undefeated 2018 Global Dressage Festival circuit for the top ranked American partnership. Adrienne Lyle and Salvino placed second with their second score above 74 per cent this year.
Laura of Geneva, Florida, and the 16-year-old KWPN gelding scored 78.022 per cent in pursuit of a second Grand Prix Freestyle result needed to qualify for the World Cup Final in Paris in mid-April. The freestyle will be staged Friday night under the lights.
Adrienne of Ketchum, Idaho and the 11-year-old Hanoverian stallion marking his first year at Big Tour this month, were awarded 74.457 per cent for second place, just 0.086 behind their highest score of 74.543 per cent posted in Wellington five weeks ago.
Adrienne said freestyle composition and choreography for Salvino had not been completed yet so she would ride to the music that she used for Wizard, the horse she rode for the United States at the 2012 Olympics in London.
Chase Hickok of Wellington and Sagacious HF placed third on 69.500 per cent.
Yvonne Losos de Muñiz and Foco Loco W posted a personal best score of 71.130 per cent to win the CDI3* Grand Prix, the third victory for the Dominican Republic Olympic combination at this Global Dressage Festival.
