NEWMÜNSTER, Germany, Feb.17, 2018–German Olympic rider Helen Langehanenberg and Damsey FRH won the World Cup Grand Prix Saturday with a personal best score in almost two years at Big Tour.
Helen and the 16-year-old Hanoverian stallion scored 78.043 per cent to best the pair’s previous best Grand Prix result of 77.760 per cent set at Stockholm last December.
The victory for Helen and Damsey, owned by Americans Louise Leatherdale and Susanne Meyer, came in the seventh of nine World Cup events in the Western European League to qualify for the final in Paris in April.
German team mate Dorothee Schneider and Sammy Davis Jr. placed second on 76.739 per cent with Denmark’s Daniel Bachmann Andersen on Blue Hors Zack in third on 74.739 per cent.
The freestyle to determine qualifying points is scheduled for Sunday.
