Suppenkasper was bought by Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang’s Four Winds Farm in July from veterinarian David Lichtenberg, the husband of German Olympian Helen Langehanenberg who had trained and competed the horse in three events over a year before the sale.

Akiko explained the horse was bought to give Steffen Peters the option of two mounts for the United States team for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The other is Rosamunde, an 11-year-old Rhinelander mare also owned by Four Winds Farm as was Legolas that was on the U.S. bronze medal team at the 2016 Olympics and Ravel that was on the teams at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
