MECHELEN, Belgium, Dec. 27, 2017–The Patrick van der Meer and Zippo won the CDI4* Grand Prix Wednesday, the the first victory in two years for the Dutch pair and coming at the last international dressage show of 2017.

Patrick and the 13-year-old KWPN gelding scored 72.720 per cent for the win. The duo’s previous victory was at this same show in 2015.

Patrick and Zippo began their Big Tour career 4 1/2 years ago and this year was on the Netherlands team at the European Championships after competing in the Nations Cups in Compiègne, France and at Aachen, Germany.

Jorinde Verwimp of Belgium and Tiamo placed second on 70.900 per cent with the Netherlands’ Danielle Heijkoop on Badari third on 70.340 per cent.
