WERRIBEE, Australia, Dec. 9, 2017–Mary Hanna and Calanta won the World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday in the first competition in Australia for the partnership seeking a start at the championship final in Paris next April.
Mary and the 10-year-old KWPN mare posted a personal best score of 74.400 per cent for the victory while placing second on 70.850 per cent on her Olympic team mount Boogie Woogie.
Mary and Calanta began Big Tour in Europe in May this year and won the Deauville, France CDI3* Grand Prix in July. The duo started eight times in France and the Netherlands.
Rozzie Ryan on Adonie placed third on 69.675 per cent.
A Pacific/Asia league final will be staged in late January to decide the sole starting place at the World Cup.
