LEXINGTON, Kentucky, Nov. 12, 2017–Elma Garcia and Wenesa won the US Finals Prix St. Georges adult amateur championships Sunday, the second title for the pair in their second appearance at the event.
Elma Garcia and the 15-year-old Hanoverian mare won the St. Georges on a score of 68.904 per cent. Earlier, the pair were awarded the Int. 1 championship and was reserve in the Int. 1 Freestyle championship.
Elma began competing Wenesa at national levels in California in 2011 and moved earlier this year to be near the Tryon International Equestrian Center in North Carolina. The pair competed at the 2016 Finals.
Nora Batchelder of Ocala, Florida captured both the open St. Georges title and reserve–Faro SQF in first on 71.974 per cent and Fifi MLW runner-up on 70.921 per cent.
