SAUMUR, France, Sept. 23, 2017–The Danish Olympic team partnership of Anders Dahl and Selten HW logged a personal best score to win the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday.
The England-based rider and the 13-year-old Hanoverian gelding scored 76.250 per cent for the first victory this year. The previous best for Anders and the American-bred Selten (Sandro Hit x Hohenstein) was 75.200 per cent set in April.
Anders began competing Selten at CDI four years ago after Californian Elizabeth Ball in 2010 completed an historic triple of U.S. titles for young horses.
Anders and Selten competed at small tour for more than two years before moving up to Grand Prix in 2016 and went on to make Denmark’s team at the Rio Games last summer.
The Netherlands’ Adelinde Cornelissen rode Zephyr to a score of 75.450 per cent for second place, a day after capturing the Grand Prix on Aqiedo.
Great Britain’s Michael Eilberg on Marakov was third on 73.975 per cent.
