DONAUESCHINGEN, Germany, Sept. 16, 2017–Isabell Werth rode QC Flamboyant to win the Nürnberger Burg-Pokal qualifier Saturday with a record score in the 25-year history of the German championship for small tour horses aged seven to nine years.
Isabell and the nine-year-old Oldenberg gelding (Fidertanz x De Niro) scored 81.512 per cent for the win that beat the previous best of 81.170 per cent set by Nadine Capellmann on Elvis at the 2004 final.
This was the 11th of 12 qualifiers for the final at Frankfurt Dec. 14-17. The last qualifier is scheduled for Nürnberg at the end of October.
