MUNICH, Germany, May 28, 2017–Isabell Werth and Don Johnson FRH posted a personal best score to win the Pferd International CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle Sunday, the 11th straight victory for the partnership of more than six years at Big Tour.
Isabell and Don Johnson, 16-year-old Hanoverian gelding, scored 84.200 per cent that surpassed the previous best for the pair of 84.125 per cent set in December, 2015.
Isabell and Don Johnson, on German teams at the 2015 and 2013 European Championships, are ranked No. 13 in the world. Her partnership with Olympic team gold medal mount and World Cup champion Weihegold OLD is ranked No. 1 and with Emilio standing at No. 8.
German Olympic rider Dorothee Schneider in the first CDI musical performance on Sammy Davis, Jr. placed second on 81.525 per cent.
The 11-year-old German Sport Horse stallion has been competed by Dorothee in only three Big Tour events since capturing the Louisdor Prize, Germany’s developing Grand Prix championship last December.
Sammy Davis will be Dorothee’s primary mount in seeking a place on the European Championship team this year as her Olympic team gold mount Showtime is out with an injury.
German team veteran Hubertus Schmidt and Imperio were third on 79.325 per cent.
