COMPIÈGNE, France, May 20, 2017–Great Britain took the lead in the CDIO5* Nations Cup Saturday, led by the Olympic pair of Spencer Wilton and Super Nova II in the Grand Prix. The Netherlands were in second place and Sweden third with the Grand Prix Special and the Freestyle scheduled for Sunday to decide the event.

Spencer and Super Nova (75.320 per cent), Hayley Watson-Greaves and Rubins Nite (71.520 per cent) and Gareth Hughes and Don Carissimo (70.400 per cent) gave the British team a total of 217.240.

This top rated Nations Cup kicks off a lineup of six events in Europe in the second year of the official series. The Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDIO3* was the first leg of the trans-Atlantic series but the results did not count this year because too few countries participated.

The Netherlands squad of Adelinde Cornelissen and Aqiedo (72.900 per cent), Jeanette Haazen and Dabanos D’04 (71.260 per cent) and Patrik van der Meer and Zippo (71.080 per cent) gave them 215.240 per cent.

Sweden made up of Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvèn and Paridon Magi (73.200 per cent) Patrik Kittel and Deja (72.320 per cent and Mades Hendeliowitz and Jimmie  Choo SEQ (67.760 per cent) on a total so far of 213,280.
