OTTAWA, Ontario, May 19, 2017–Canadian Olympic rider Belinda Trussell rode Tattoo to victory in the Ottawa Dressage Festival CDI3* Grand Prix Friday in only the second Big Tour competition for the partnership.
Belinda and the 14-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 70.540 per cent for the first victory for the pair that competed at small tour for three years after the horse was ridden by Monica Theodorescu, now the German team coach.
Belinda, who rode for Canada at the 2004 and 2016 Olympics, made her CDI Grand Prix debut on Tattoo at Tryon, North Carolina last month. In 2016, the pair swept the small tour at this show and at Devon, Pennsylvania.
Yvonne Losos de Muñiz of the Dominican Republic placed second n Aquamarijn on 67.480 per cent with Canada’s Elizabeth Steacie on Callahan third on 67.000 per cent.
