WELLINGTON, Florida, Mar. 24, 2017–Just days before becoming the first Argentine to go to a World Cup Final, Maria Florencia Manfredi rode Bandurria Kacero to the first victory outside their homeland and with a personal best score to win the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI3*Grand Prix Freestyle Friday.
Maria and the 11-year-old Argentine-bred gelding scored 72.525 per cent for the win in the last of this year’s lineup of seven CDIs at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.
Maria and Bandurria Kacero will fly out of Palm Beach on Monday on a planeload of dressage and jumpers bound for the World Cup Final in Omaha.
Australia’s Kelly Layne, based in Wellington, rode her Udon P to second place on 71.800 per cent, their highest placing in three years.
Canada’s Christilot Boylen on Drentano was third on 70.650 per cent.
