WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 10, 2017–Adrienne Lyle rode Horizon to their first CDI win by capturing the Adequan Global Dressage Festival CDI3* Intermediate 1 Friday.
Adrienne, the 2012 Olympian for the United States, and the 10-year-old Oldenburg mare, scored 73.533 per cent in what was only their fourth start at small tour, all this year at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.
“Horizon has an incredible work ethic, an engine that never stops,” said Adrienne of Sun Valley, Idaho and an assistant trainer to Debbie McDonald who coaches a corps of America’s top riders.
“She’s progressed faster than I ever thought,” she said of the horse she took over two years ago for owner Elizabeth Juliano. “The goal is to make her a Grand Prix horse. I think she has even more talent for that.”
Her goal is to take Horizon to Europe this summer, along with an increasing number of Americans.
As for Horizon’s personality, Adrienne summed it up: “A diva. She wants all the attention all the time.”
