WELLINGTON, Florida, Feb. 9, 2017–Dan Farrell, former senior vice president of the Charlotte Motor Speedway tied to the successful NASCAR circuit, on Thursday was named Chief Revenue Officer of Equestrian Sport Productions for its Wellington, Tryon and Colorado events including the 2018 World Equestrian Games.

After 17 years with Charlotte Speedway, Dan will be responsible for identifying, initiating and closing revenue opportunities at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center which hosts the Global Dressage Festival, Winter Equestrian Festival and International Polo Club in Wellington, Florida, Tryon International Equestrian Center in North Carolina that will stage the 2018 WEG, and the Colorado Horse Park in Parker.

Responsibilities include sponsorship, special events, corporate events and guest experiences.

Dan will also be responsible for the same business opportunities for the World Equestrian Games Tryon in 2018 that stepped in to became host of the showcase of global horse sports last summer when Bromont, Canada pulled out. The event is projected to bring more than 500,000 participants, media and visitors from more than 70 nations Sept. 10-23.

A sports management graduate of State University of New York-Courtland, Dan has spent more than 20 years in sports sponsorship sales, most recently responsible corporate sponsorships and entertainment, corporate event rentals and account management for properties including NASCAR, NHRA, World of Outlaws, concerts, and special events including the World Premier of Pixar’s “Cars” and Ford Mustang’s 50th Anniversary.
