Voting has opened for the United States Equestrian Federation Horse of the Year, with Olympic team bronze medal winner Verdades one of three international candidates.
Verdades was ridden by Laura Graves of Geneva, Florida to team bronze and fourth place in the Grand Prix Freestyle to decide individual medals.
Verdades is a 14-year-old KWPN gelding that Laura has partnered from a foal. The pair are the reigning U.S. Grand Prix Champions and placed fifth in the 2014 World Games Grand Prix Freestyle as well as silver at the 2015 Pan American Games.
The other candidates are HH Azur that was ridden by McLain Ward to lead the U.S. jumper team to silver at the Rio Games and Mighty Nice on whom Phillip Dutton won Olympic individual eventing bronze.
