SALZBURG, Austria, Dec. 9, 2016–Bernadette Brune and Spirit of the Age OLD logged their first back-to-back victories in winning the CDI4* Grand Prix Special Friday with a personal best score a day after taking the Grand Prix.
Bernadette and the 12-year-old Oldenburg stallion scored 72.647 per cent for the win that was the first show double since beginning Big Tour 3 1/2 years ago
Bernadette earlier this week was named an advanced rider on Germany’s B squad heading into 2017.
Hendrik Lochthowe, also of Germany, rode Meggle’s Boston, a 10-year-old KWPN stallion, to second place on a 70.843 per cent with Austria’s Christian Schumach on Auheim’s Picardo third on 69.118 per cent, the same order of finish as in the Grand Prix Thursday.
