ANKUM, German, Dec. 4, 2016–Ferrari, a four-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Foundation x Hotline) sold for €1.5/US$1.58 million Sunday for the top price at the Performance Sales International annual auction that brought in a total of €16.5/US$17.34 million for 48 dressage and jumping horses.

The horse that won the stallion division at the Oldenburg national tournament in Rastede was sold to the Dressage Grand Ducal show stable in Luxembourg.

The four-year-old Revenant, another dressage stallion (Rock Forever x Sir Donnerhall I) went for €1.1/US$1.16 million, the second highest price, to the Bavarian stud Ammerland.

Akiko Yamazaki, the owner of horses ridden by Steffen Peters for the United States at three Olympics, was named recipient of the “supporter” award at the Saturday night banquet. Akiko bought Legolalas from PSI’s Ullrich Kasselmann.

Germany’s Kristina Bröring-Sprehe, the rider of Desperados that won team gold and individual bronze at this year’s Rio Olympics and team silver in London in 2012, received the “sport” award.
